This AV:Link converter is a versatile USB powered unit that takes many formats of digital audio and turns them into analogue outputs. It handles Bluetooth, optical (Toslink), coaxial, USB, microphone and 3.5mm aux inputs, sending them out to RCA (L&R) and 3.5mm aux connections. That makes it a useful bridge for games consoles, LED TVs, projectors and Blu-ray players that have no RCA or 3.5mm headphone output of their own.

Bluetooth 5.1 lets you stream audio from phones, tablets and other smart devices, with a range of up to 15m in obstruction free conditions. It supports the A2DP and AVRCP profiles, so you can play and control your music wirelessly. There is also an integrated USB media player and a combined power and volume control knob on the unit itself. Setup is plug and play, with instant synchronisation and no noticeable delay once connected.

The device is housed in an aluminium chassis and measures 110 x 25 x 85mm, weighing just 125g. It runs on 5V DC via the supplied USB power lead, so you can power it from a spare USB port or a mains adaptor. In the box you get an IR remote control with a CR2025 battery fitted, a DC jack to USB power lead and a range of connecting cables to get you started. It is a small, straightforward unit for anyone who needs to get analogue audio out of modern digital kit.
