Description

The AV:Link DisplayPort to VGA adapter is a 15cm cable that converts digital DisplayPort signals to analogue VGA output, allowing computers with DisplayPort outputs to connect to older VGA monitors and projectors. The adapter features a DisplayPort plug on one end and a VGA socket on the other, requiring a standard VGA cable (sold separately) to complete the connection to the display.

Designed for office, education and home setups where newer laptops or PCs need to connect to legacy VGA displays, the adapter handles the digital-to-analogue conversion internally. This makes it useful for presentation rooms, classrooms and home offices that still rely on older projectors or monitors without HDMI or DisplayPort inputs. The 15cm cable length keeps the adapter close to the source device, minimising cable clutter.

The adapter weighs 34g and measures 240 x 45 x 15mm including connectors, making it compact enough to carry in a laptop bag for mobile presentations. The VGA socket accepts any standard VGA cable, giving flexibility to use existing cabling infrastructure without replacing monitors or projectors that still function reliably.

Frequently Asked

Does this adapter require external power?

No. The adapter draws power from the DisplayPort connection on the source device, so no external power supply is needed.

What's included in the box?

The adapter cable only. A separate VGA cable is required to connect the VGA socket on the adapter to your monitor or projector.

Does it support audio output?

No. VGA is a video-only standard, so audio signals are not carried through this adapter. Audio will need to be routed separately from the source device to speakers or the display's audio input if available.

What resolution does it support?

DisplayPort to VGA adapters typically support resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 or 1080p, depending on the source device and display capabilities. Higher resolutions may not be supported due to VGA bandwidth limits.
