Description

This AV:Link Cat6a patch lead uses pure oxygen-free copper 30AWG conductors with FTP shielding, giving you reliable data transmission across your network. The individual pair aluminium foil screens protect against alien crosstalk, so signal stays clean even in busy cabling runs. It supports frequencies up to 500MHz and data rates up to 10Gbps, which suits high-speed connections at home or in the office.

The flat cable design is what sets this lead apart from standard round patch leads. At 7.6mm wide and just 2.6mm thick, it sits neatly in narrow trunking or can be chased across walls and ceilings where space is tight. This makes it a sensible choice for professional installations, but it works just as well tucked under carpet edges or run along skirting boards in a domestic setting.

Each lead comes with snag-free connectors, so the plastic clip won't catch or break when you route the cable through tight spaces or unplug it repeatedly. In the UK we tend to say Ethernet lead where you may also hear network cable or patch cord, and they all refer to the same thing here. This 1.5m length is supplied in a sealed retail bag, keeping it clean and tidy until you need it. If you're wiring up a router, switch, games console or smart TV, this lead does the job without adding bulk.

Frequently Asked

What speed does this lead support?

It supports data transfer rates up to 10Gbps, with frequencies up to 500MHz, so it handles high-speed connections comfortably.

Why is the cable flat rather than round?

The flat design measures 7.6mm wide and 2.6mm thick, which lets it fit into narrow trunking or run neatly across walls and ceilings where a round cable would be harder to hide.

What is FTP shielding?

FTP means foiled twisted pair. Each pair has an aluminium foil screen that protects the signal from alien crosstalk and outside interference.

Are the connectors durable?

Yes, the RJ45 connectors are snag-free, so the clip won't catch or snap when you route the cable through tight spaces or unplug it often.

Is this lead backward compatible?

Cat6a is backward compatible with Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5 equipment, so it works with existing routers, switches and devices.

What conductors are used inside?

It uses pure oxygen-free copper 30AWG conductors, which give consistent, reliable performance across the lead's length.
