Description

Our AV:Link Cat6 patch lead runs 15 metres between two RJ45 plugs, giving you a wired connection where a longer reach is needed. The cable uses stranded copper conductors rated at 25AWG, made up of seven strands each measuring 0.18mm, which keeps it flexible and easy to route around desks, walls and equipment racks.

This is a UTP (unshielded twisted pair) lead built to Cat6 standard, so it supports frequencies up to 250 MHz and data speeds up to 1,000Mbps, also written as 1Gbps. That makes it a sensible choice for high-speed data transmission across your home or office network. It works with PCs, printers, servers, routers and switch boxes, and stays fully backwards compatible with older network gear you already have in place.

The snag-less design means the plug clip is protected, so it won't catch or break when you pull the lead through tight spaces. The cable is built for uniform impedance, low return loss and a good signal-to-noise ratio, which all help keep your connection steady. Overall diameter is 6.0mm. Note that in the UK we call this a patch lead, while in the US you'll often see the same thing described as a patch cord or patch cable. Shorter lengths in the range are supplied in a sealed, retail-friendly bag.
