Description

This is our AV:Link Cat5e patch lead, a 0.5m network cable with an RJ45 plug at each end. It's built to handle 100Base-T and 1000Base-T ethernet, so it works for standard home and office networking where you're connecting a router, switch, computer or games console. The short length keeps things tidy when your devices sit close together.

The conductor is solid 24AWG copper clad aluminium twisted pair, which is capable of transmitting at GHz speed. Each pair has a core diameter of 4 x 2 x 0.51mm, with an overall cable diameter of 5mm. The unshielded twisted pair (UTP) design keeps the lead flexible and easy to route, and it's a sensible choice for typical indoor runs that aren't sitting near heavy electrical interference.

We supply the shorter lengths in a sealed retail bag, so the lead arrives clean and ready to use. If you need to link two pieces of kit over a short distance, this patch lead (sometimes called a patch cable in the US) does the job without any fuss.
