Our AV:Link 8-in-1 Universal Remote Control is made to replace a lost or broken handset, or to cut down the clutter of several remotes sitting on the coffee table. It works with many brands of TV, DVD, SAT and HiFi, plus other devices, so one remote can handle up to eight pieces of kit at once. It operates most of the major control functions you use day to day, from power and volume to channel and playback.

Setting it up is straightforward. There are four setup options, so you can programme the remote either manually by entering a code or automatically by letting it search for your device. This flexibility helps if you don't have the code list to hand or if your gear is an older model. Please note it may not work with some models of smart TV, so it suits standard AV equipment best.

The body is compact and plain, measuring 175 x 45 x 18mm and weighing 55g, so it feels balanced in the hand without being bulky. It runs on 2x AAA batteries (called AA/AAA cells in the UK and the same in the US), which are not supplied, so keep a pair ready before your first setup.
