The AV:Link 4K HDMI 2.0 repeater is a 50mm inline signal booster that extends HDMI connections beyond standard cable length limits without adding signal degradation. It supports 4K resolution at 60Hz over a combined 10m cable run (5m input + 5m output) or Full HD and 4K@30Hz over 40m (20m input + 20m output), allowing source devices to connect to displays at greater distances than a single HDMI cable can reliably achieve.
Designed for home cinema installations, commercial AV setups, digital signage and gaming rigs where the display sits more than 5m from the source, the repeater sits inline between two HDMI cables and draws power directly from the HDMI bus, eliminating the need for external power supplies or wall adapters. The unit passes HDCP 2.2 handshake data between source and display, maintaining compatibility with protected 4K streaming content from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and UHD Blu-ray players.
The aluminium housing measures 50 x 30 x 18mm and weighs 21g, small enough to tuck behind a wall-mounted TV or inside an AV cabinet without adding visible bulk to the cable run. The repeater supports high-bitrate audio formats including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby AC3 and DSD, passing multi-channel soundtracks to AV receivers and soundbars without downmixing or compression. Maximum bandwidth of 600MHz and 18Gbps aggregate data rate (3 x 6Gbps lanes) ensures compatibility with HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision metadata where supported by the connected devices.
The unit operates on the HDMI 2.0b specification and is backward-compatible with HDMI 1.4 and earlier devices, automatically negotiating the highest common resolution and refresh rate between source and display. For maximum distance and signal integrity, pair the repeater with certified high-speed HDMI cables rated for 18Gbps. Lower-quality cables may limit effective distance or introduce handshake failures at 4K@60Hz.
