Description

Our designers set out to make a cabinet that softens a room rather than boxing it in, and the Audacious Oak Cabinet in Charcoal is the result of that thinking. We wanted a piece that offered proper closed storage without the hard edges you so often find, so we gave it a rounded rectangular body and fluted tambour doors that slide open rather than swinging out on hinges. Those ribbed doors wrap the whole front and curve round both ends, which means there are no sharp corners to catch a hip or a passing pillow. Standing on four round tapered legs, it keeps a low, grounded profile at 67cm high, and we think it earns its place in a living room, a hallway or the corner of a bedroom.

The tambour fronts glide sideways to reveal the storage within, and we have kept the mechanism simple so there is nothing to fight with day to day. Built from solid oak, oak veneer and MDF with a steel structure, the piece is finished in a warm Charcoal that settles happily against pale walls or deeper tones alike. The natural oak grain reads through, giving the cabinet a bit of texture up close. It measures 100cm wide and 50cm deep, weighs 19.3kg, and asks for around 30 minutes of assembly, so you are not committing an afternoon to it.

Inside, each shelf takes up to 15kg when the weight is spread evenly, and the top surface holds up to 50kg, which is ample for a table lamp base, a stack of books or a favourite plant. We produce it to the Global Recycled Standard and it carries STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, so you can trust what has gone into it. For us, this is a cabinet that quietly does its job and looks good doing it.
