Audacious Dark Oak TV Bench - Morning Meadows

The Audacious Dark Oak TV Bench gives the living room a low, grounded anchor for the screen and everything that gathers around it. The idea was a piece that keeps the media tidy without dominating the room, so we kept the profile long and low and gave the body a soft, rounded shape rather than a hard flat front. At 140cm wide and just 40cm high, it sits comfortably beneath a wall-mounted television, while the Morning Meadows covering brings a gentle, natural tone to the Dark Oak. We think it holds its own in a busy family space and a quieter one alike.

The detail we return to is the fluted tambour: two sliding doors run across the front in fine vertical ribs, so opening the bench is a matter of gliding a panel aside rather than swinging a door into the room. Behind them there is room for a console, a soundbar or the usual tangle of boxes, and the shelf inside takes up to 15kg when the weight is spread evenly. The top carries up to 120kg, again distributed across the surface, which is plenty for the television plus a table lamp base or a stack of books. Four round tapered legs lift the whole thing clear of the floor, keeping the look light and making cleaning underneath simple.

We hold it to the EN 16121 and EN 16122 furniture standards, the Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX. It weighs 18.75kg, measures 46cm deep, and we reckon on about 30min to assemble. Made for indoor use, it asks little and gives back a calm, ordered corner.
