Description

Not a hard-edged square with sharp corners, but a soft round drum meant to feel gentle in a living room. Our Audacious Dark Oak Side Table is built around a fluted tambour body, its vertical ridges catching light and shade across the curve. In its Shadow colour, a deep and grounded tone, the table settles quietly beside a sofa or armchair, while its dark oak brings warmth to the whole piece. We chose the round form and open shelf so it works as hard as it looks, giving you a surface on top and a place to tuck books or a folded throw below.

Standing 59.3cm tall with a 38cm diameter, it rests on four round tapered legs that keep the base light and open. The tabletop takes a maximum load of 50kg when evenly distributed, and the shelf holds up to 15kg, so we would place a lamp and a cup up top and keep favourite reads below. It weighs 9kg and takes around 30 minutes to put together, and we have an assembly video to walk you through it. Made from solid oak, MDF and polyester as part of our Horizons S range, it carries Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, which matters to us.

To keep the fluted surface looking its best, we suggest wiping it with a soft dry cloth and lifting dust from between the ridges now and then, avoiding harsh cleaners that could mark the finish. The matt Shadow tone pairs easily with warm neutrals and softer greys, so it sits comfortably in a reading nook or at the end of a bed. Because the shape is round rather than boxy, we like it in a tighter corner where a squared table would feel too heavy. It is a small piece that earns its place, and we think it will settle in quickly.
