Description
Built from a combination of solid oak, oak veneer and MDF, with steel and touches of polyester and artificial leather drawn from the Horizons S range, this is a cabinet that feels warm and substantial in equal measure. The Dark Oak brings a deep, grounded tone to the wood, while the Sugar Brown colour softens the whole piece with a gentle, muted warmth.
The form is what we love most. Rather than a flat, boxy front, we gave it a rounded rectangular body with fluted tambour sliding doors that wrap across the face and curve neatly round both ends. The doors slide rather than swing, so you never need clearance for hinged fronts, and the vertical fluting catches the light in a way that keeps the surfaces from feeling static. Four round tapered legs lift the body off the floor, giving it a light, poised stance despite its solid build. At 67cm tall, 100cm wide and 50cm deep, it sits low enough to work along a wall in a living room, hallway or bedroom, and the top makes a natural home for a table lamp base or a few favourite pieces.
Practical details matter to us too. The cabinet weighs 19.3kg and takes around 30min to assemble, so you can have it in place the same afternoon. Each internal shelf holds up to 15kg and the top surface takes up to 50kg, with those figures assuming weight spread evenly across the surface. It carries the Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® marks, which is our way of being clear about the materials we use.
