At 160cm wide, our Audacious Black Oak Sideboard in Shadow gives you a generous run of storage without dominating the room, and at just 67.1cm tall and 50cm deep it slips neatly beneath artwork or a wall-mounted television. This piece is a long, low sideboard with a softly rounded body, so it feels less boxy than the usual flat-fronted unit. It stands on four round tapered legs that lift it off the floor and keep the whole thing looking light despite its 42.5kg weight. If you are measuring up a hallway, a dining room or a living space, these are the numbers that will tell you whether it fits before anything else does.

The fluted tambour doors are what we love most here. Rather than slab panels, we chose sliding tambour fronts with a ribbed, vertical texture that catches the light across the day, and the deep Shadow colour keeps that detail quiet and grown-up. Inside you get proper shelving for tableware, books, records or anything you would rather keep out of sight, with a max load of 15kg per shelf and up to 50kg across the top surface when weight is spread evenly. It is made from solid oak, polyester, MDF and artificial leather, and it carries the Global Recycled Standard along with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, so you know what has gone into it.

Assembly takes around 20 to 25 minutes, so you will not lose an afternoon to it. To keep the finish looking its best, wipe the surfaces with a soft dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners on the tambour grooves, where dust likes to settle. For styling, we would keep the top fairly sparse, perhaps a single lamp and a stack of books, so the ribbed doors and the curve of the body stay the focus.
