Description

The Atom is a 92mm recessed downlight with a 25° tilt adjustment, allowing the beam to be angled from a vertical ceiling position to direct light onto walls, artwork or work surfaces. The white powder-coated aluminium bezel sits flush with the ceiling and houses a GU10 lamp holder that accepts bulbs up to 50W (sold separately). The tilt mechanism pivots on an internal gimbal, giving manual control over light direction after installation.

Designed for residential and commercial dry-area installation, the downlight suits kitchens, hallways, offices, retail spaces and living rooms where directed accent or task lighting is needed. The 92mm bezel requires a ceiling cut-out of approximately 75-80mm diameter and a minimum void depth of 40mm above the ceiling plane to accommodate the fitting body. Spring clips on either side of the housing secure the downlight into the ceiling opening without additional fixings.

The white finish matches typical ceiling paint tones, making the downlight visually recessive when switched off. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior locations — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or other moisture-exposed areas. The aluminium construction dissipates heat efficiently when paired with LED GU10 bulbs, which run cooler than halogen equivalents and reduce the thermal load on the fitting.

The fitting accepts a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W. Most installations use a 5-7W LED GU10 in either warm white (2700-3000K) or cool white (4000-5000K). Bulbs are sold separately.

Can the light direction be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The 25° tilt mechanism allows the beam to be angled manually from vertical to approximately 25° off-axis. This lets you direct light onto specific areas such as walls, countertops or artwork without re-positioning the entire fitting.

What ceiling void depth is required?
