Description

Fitting our Asteria Short LED Wall Light takes around ten minutes, and because it comes ready with a 2.2m black fabric cord and plug, there is no wiring in required. You simply mount the round wall plate, run the cable down to the nearest socket and switch on. This makes it a practical choice for renters or anyone who would rather avoid an electrician, and it means you can move it between rooms whenever you fancy a change. The built-in 12W panel gives 500 lumen at a warm 2700K, and with a CRI of 91 the light renders colours faithfully. It is dimmable too, so you can soften the glow for the evening.

The form is quiet and low profile. A round wall plate carries a short straight arm that holds a flat circular disc shade, measuring 15cm across and just 9.6cm tall, sitting 25cm from the wall. The black fabric cable runs neatly down from the plate to the plug. We finished this version in Pearl White over its Steel core colour, a soft matt white that suits bedside walls, hallways and reading nooks. Made from steel, aluminium and acrylic, it feels solid in the hand, and the panel is rated for 50000 light hours so you are unlikely to think about replacing it for years.

We back the Asteria with a 10-year warranty, and it carries CE, UKCA, WEEE and IP2X markings for indoor use. To keep the Pearl White looking its best, we suggest a wipe with a dry or barely damp soft cloth now and then, avoiding any harsh cleaners on the acrylic. A pair either side of a bed or mirror works well, and the compact disc shape sits happily in tighter spots where a larger fitting would crowd the wall.
