Description

The Ashton is a dual-head floor lamp built around an antique brass stem with two curved arms, each supporting a hemispherical crystal ring shade and a G9 bulb fitting. The upper head sits at approximately 1360mm from floor level, while the lower arm extends 280mm from the stem at around 850mm height, providing two independently dimmable light sources when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs.

Designed for living rooms and bedrooms where task lighting is needed alongside ambient illumination, the Ashton works beside armchairs for reading, next to a sofa for evening tasks, or in corners where two different lighting angles add layered illumination without requiring two separate fittings. The rectangular 280mm x 250mm weighted base provides stability on carpets and hard floors, and the 6.6kg total weight keeps the lamp secure when the upper head is angled.

Each crystal ring shade comprises dozens of individually strung clear faceted crystals that refract light into subtle spectrum flashes when the bulbs are on. The antique brass frame has a low-lustre satin finish that softens reflections and pairs with both traditional brass fixtures and warmer-toned contemporary interiors. The lamp accepts any G9 halogen or LED bulb up to 33W per fitting (bulbs sold separately), and both heads dim together if dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch are used.

Is the Ashton dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and connect the lamp to a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable G9 bulbs will operate at full brightness only. Both heads dim together as they share the same power supply.

What bulbs does it take?

The Ashton takes two G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. The lamp is not compatible with older halogen-only G9 fittings.

Can the heads be adjusted independently?

The upper head is fixed at the top of the stem. The lower arm extends from the stem at a fixed angle and cannot be repositioned once assembled. The two heads provide different lighting angles from their fixed positions rather than being articulated or adjustable.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Turn off and unplug the lamp before cleaning. Wipe each crystal element gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used, but avoid soaking the crystals or getting water into the electrical fittings.
