Description

The Ashland Bay is a 278mm-high outdoor wall lantern from Kichler, built around a cylindrical seeded glass shade housed in a weathered zinc metal frame with a top-mounted hanging bracket detail. The single E27 socket sits inside the seeded glass, which scatters the light through embedded bubbles and ripples, creating a textured light pattern on adjacent walls. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for UK exterior installation under eaves, porches and covered entrances where protection from direct rainfall is needed.

Designed for porch lighting, doorway flanking, and covered patio walls, the Ashland Bay's 154mm width and 173mm projection suit typical UK masonry walls without excessive overhang. The colonial-style proportions — a cylindrical shade with banded top and base rings — pair well with Victorian, Edwardian and cottage-style properties, and the weathered zinc finish provides a muted grey-brown metallic tone that weathers naturally outdoors. The compact size allows installation as a single accent beside a front door or as a mirrored pair flanking garage doors or French windows.

The weathered zinc finish is applied over die-cast metal and develops a deeper patina over time when exposed to rain and air. The seeded glass is thicker than standard clear glass to withstand outdoor temperature swings, and the E27 fitting accepts any standard Edison-screw bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose filament-style LEDs, warm-white LEDs, or traditional incandescent bulbs.
