Arvion Slim Capsule Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White & Matte Black

The Arvion is a slim capsule alabaster pendant light measuring 430mm tall and 130mm in diameter, built around a tall cylindrical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster and held within a matte black arched metal frame. A single G9 lamp sits inside the capsule, casting light through the stone so the alabaster itself acts as the diffuser. The frame loops over the top of the shade and continues down each side, terminating in a small base bracket beneath the capsule.

The slim 130mm diameter and elongated 430mm height suit positions where width is limited but vertical drop reads well: above a kitchen island in a cluster of three or five, flanking a bedside in place of a table lamp, or hung at varied heights over a stairwell. The single black flex feeds from a ceiling rose and can be cut to length on installation. Multiple Arvion pendants hung in a row produce a quiet rhythm of vertical columns rather than competing visual masses.

Natural Spanish alabaster carries grey and amber veining that varies between blocks, so each capsule shows different markings when lit. The matte black frame provides a sharp linear outline against the softer stone, holding the capsule in place without dominating the silhouette. The contrast of warm-glowing alabaster against the cool dark metal gives the pendant an architectural quality, particularly when paired with darker joinery, deep wall colours or exposed structural elements.

What bulb does the Arvion take?

The pendant uses a single G9 capsule lamp. G9 LEDs typically run between 2W and 4W and are widely available in warm white (2700K-3000K), which suits the natural tones of the alabaster best. The bulb is sold separately.

Does the alabaster vary between pendants?

Yes. The shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, colour depth and translucency differ from one capsule to the next. When buying multiples for a cluster or a row, expect each pendant to show its own pattern.

Can it be hung in a cluster?

The slim 130mm diameter and 430mm height make Arvion well suited to multiples. Hung in groups of three or five over an island or dining table, or staggered at varied drops over a stairwell, the vertical capsules read as a rhythm rather than a single dominant fitting.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the shade gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the stone.
