Description

The Arvion is a slim alabaster pendant light built around a tall capsule-shaped shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended inside a brushed brass arched frame. The shade measures 430mm high and 130mm in diameter, sitting within an open brass surround that traces an arch above the stone and a flat rectangular base below. A single G9 lamp socket sits inside the capsule and is concealed by the alabaster.

The slim 130mm diameter and elongated profile suit narrow drop positions where a wider pendant would feel out of proportion: above a kitchen island in a multi-pendant run, either side of a bed as a hanging alternative to bedside lamps, flanking a bathroom vanity mirror, or in a stairwell where a vertical fitting reads better than a round one. The G9 lamp delivers focused light through the alabaster, casting a warm glow that picks up the stone's veining.

The brushed brass frame is finished to a low-sheen warm gold that pairs comfortably with both warm-toned wood interiors and cooler stone or plaster finishes. Each alabaster capsule is cut from a different section of stone, so the pattern of veining, clouding and translucency varies between individual pieces. When lit, the natural mineral markings within the stone become more visible, giving each pendant a unique character that a manufactured glass shade cannot replicate.

What bulb does it take?

The Arvion uses a single G9 lamp, which is sold separately. A G9 LED between 3W and 5W in 2700K-3000K warm white pairs well with the alabaster shade and gives a soft, even glow through the stone.

Does the alabaster vary between pendants?

Yes. Each capsule is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral markings and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. The variation becomes more visible when the lamp is lit, and is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

Can multiple pendants be hung together?

The slim 130mm diameter makes the Arvion well-suited to multi-pendant arrangements over kitchen islands, dining tables and stair voids. Spacing of 350-450mm between centres typically works well, though final spacing depends on the length of the run and ceiling height.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the shade gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid damp cloths, household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as these can mark or stain the stone.
