Description

The Artisan is a 550mm table lamp built around a hand-formed aged brass base with scrolled metalwork forming a cage-like structure around a central column. The base sits on a domed 152mm brass footplate and supports an ivory pleated fabric shade 325mm in diameter. A single E27 bulb fitting inside the shade casts light through the pleated fabric and between the brass scrolls.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways and side tables in living rooms, the Artisan pairs ambient light with a decorative presence. The 550mm overall height positions the shade at a comfortable reading height when the lamp is placed on a typical bedside cabinet. The aged brass finish gives the metal a darkened patina with highlights where the raised areas of the scrollwork catch the light, contrasting with the soft ivory tone of the shade.

The base metalwork consists of curved metal bands riveted at top and bottom, forming an open cage around the central lamp column. This construction keeps the visual weight centred while allowing the aged brass finish to be visible from all sides. The pleated shade diffuses the light from the E27 bulb into a warm ambient glow, softening the contrast between the shade and the surrounding room. The lamp accepts any E27 bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament bulbs depending on preferred light temperature and brightness.
