Description

The Artisan is a tiltable recessed downlight with a matte gold cylindrical body set within a black ceiling trim ring. The fitting accepts a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) up to 10W and the internal reflector tilts to direct light onto accent features, wall art or architectural details rather than just flooding the ceiling cavity below.

Designed for residential and commercial ceiling installation where directed accent lighting is needed, the Artisan suits hallways, gallery walls, retail displays and living rooms with specific features to highlight. The 54mm diameter ceiling cut-out is a standard recessed downlight size in the UK, making retrofits straightforward where existing downlight housings are already present. The tilt mechanism allows approximately 30° of beam adjustment once the fitting is installed, so the light can be angled without needing to reposition the entire fitting in the ceiling.

The matte gold finish on the visible cylinder contrasts with the black ceiling trim, giving the fitting a two-tone appearance that pairs with contemporary, industrial and warm-toned interiors. The aluminium construction keeps the weight low for ceiling installation while the IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations. The fitting projects approximately 141mm down from the ceiling once installed, so a ceiling void depth of at least 150mm is needed to accommodate the full housing and allow for heat dissipation around the GU10 socket.

The Artisan accepts a single GU10 bulb up to 10W. GU10 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for accent lighting.

Can the beam direction be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The internal reflector and bulb housing tilt within the outer cylinder, allowing the beam to be angled approximately 30° from vertical once the fitting is installed in the ceiling.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The fitting projects 141mm down from the ceiling surface, so a void depth of at least 150mm is needed to accommodate the housing and allow airflow around the GU10 socket for heat dissipation.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry indoor locations only. For bathroom use, a downlight with IP44 or higher certification is required.
