Artisan 5 Light Chandelier - Black

The Artisan is a 5-light chandelier built around hand-formed scroll arms in a matt black finish, each ending in a candle drip tray and E14 socket. A central twisted column connects the five arms to the canopy, with decorative knot detailing at the junctions. The chandelier takes five E14 bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), giving a total potential output of 300W when fitted with traditional candles or around 30-50W if using LED equivalents.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Artisan provides overhead ambient lighting in a traditional candelabra format. The 470mm width suits tables up to 1.8m long or rooms up to 4m square. The chandelier is height-adjustable on installation via a 590mm chain, allowing a minimum drop of 500mm or maximum of 940mm from ceiling to chandelier base. The fixture can also be converted to a semi-flush mount by removing the chain and fitting the body directly to the canopy, reducing the total drop to approximately 450mm for lower ceilings.

The hand-formed metalwork shows slight variation in scroll curvature and knot tightness between individual pieces, a characteristic of the forging process. The matt black finish is non-reflective and pairs with wrought iron hardware, dark wood furniture and both traditional and industrial interiors. The five arms radiate evenly around the central column, giving balanced light distribution across the room when all five bulbs are lit.

What bulbs does it take?

The Artisan takes five E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to replicate traditional candle light.

Can it be fitted to lower ceilings?

Yes. The chandelier includes a flush-convert option that allows the fixture to be mounted as a semi-flush fitting by removing the chain and attaching the chandelier body directly to the canopy. This reduces the total drop to approximately 450mm, making it suitable for ceilings around 2.2m high.

What size room does it suit?

The 470mm diameter works in rooms up to approximately 4m square or above dining tables up to 1.8m long. In larger rooms the Artisan provides focused lighting over a specific zone rather than full room illumination.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

No. The chain length is set during installation and cannot be adjusted afterwards without removing the chandelier from the ceiling and re-threading the cable through the chain links.
