Description
The Artisan is a cylindrical wall light machined from aluminium with a knurled texture across the outer surface, finished in matte gold. The cylinder houses two GU10 bulb fittings — one facing upwards, one downwards — casting light in both directions to create wall-washing effects above and below the fitting. The circular backplate sits flush to the wall behind the cylinder, giving the fitting a projected depth of 67mm.
Designed for hallways, landings, bedroom headboard walls and living room feature walls, the Artisan provides accent lighting rather than primary room illumination. The 200mm cylinder height and 54mm diameter suit spaces where a compact fitting is needed without sacrificing presence. The up-and-down light spread highlights architectural details above and below the fitting, working well on plain walls where texture or artwork benefits from grazing light. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas.
The knurled finish on the aluminium cylinder is pressed in a fine diagonal cross-hatch pattern, giving the surface a tactile grip and breaking up reflections under direct light. The matte gold tone sits between polished brass warmth and brushed gold subtlety, pairing comfortably with warm neutrals, walnut or oak furniture, and darker accent walls. Each GU10 fitting accepts bulbs up to 10W (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and beam angle depending on whether the wall needs soft wash or defined up-down beams.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Artisan takes two GU10 bulbs up to 10W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm white 2700K-3000K LED GU10 bulbs in either narrow beam (36°) for defined up-down lines or wide beam (60°+) for softer wall washing.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry indoor areas only. It is not rated for bathroom zones where moisture or splashing occurs.
How is it fitted to the wall?
The circular backplate fixes to a standard UK wall box or directly to the wall using screws through the plate. The cylinder projects 67mm from the wall surface once installed. Full fitting instructions are included in the downloadable manual above.
What other finishes are available in the Artisan range?
Maytoni produces the Artisan in several finishes including matte black, brushed brass, and polished chrome. Use the search function to find other variants currently in stock at Niori.
