Description

The Artisan is a 2-light wall bracket in aged brass with hand-formed scrollwork curving outward from a circular backplate, finished with a twisted knot drop detail below the central mount. Each arm terminates in a candle-style drip tray and E14 socket, accepting standard small Edison screw candle bulbs up to 60W per fitting (bulbs sold separately).

Designed for hallways, dining rooms and living rooms where decorative wall lighting is needed alongside or in place of central ceiling fittings, the Artisan projects 150mm from the wall and spans 300mm horizontally. The aged brass finish shows darker patina in the recesses of the scrollwork and lighter golden tones on raised surfaces, giving the fitting depth and tonal variation rather than a flat metallic appearance. The 185mm height suits wall positions 1.6-1.8m above floor level, where the light sits at eye level for standing occupants without casting glare into seated sightlines.

The scrollwork is formed by hand rather than cast, so each piece shows slight variation in the exact curvature and tightness of the spiral elements. The twisted knot at the base of the backplate is a decorative element rather than structural and sits below the main branch junction as a visual anchor. The aged brass pairs well with warm-toned wood furniture, terracotta, ochre and deep green wall colours, and softens the contrast in rooms with darker or more saturated paint.

The Artisan takes two E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft ambient glow that complements the aged brass finish.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb choice and compatible dimmer switch. LED E14 candle bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

What height should it be mounted at?

The Artisan works best mounted 1.6-1.8m above floor level in hallways and living rooms, where the light sits at eye level for standing occupants without causing glare for seated viewers. In dining rooms, position slightly higher if the wall light sits behind seating.

Does the aged brass tarnish further over time?

Aged brass is a pre-patinated finish applied during manufacture. It will not tarnish significantly further under normal indoor conditions. Wipe with a dry soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid metal polishes or abrasive cleaners, which will strip the aged patina and expose brighter brass beneath.
