Description

The Artisan is a 300mm long white aluminium cylinder pendant with a 54mm diameter and a single GU10 downlight fitting recessed within the tube. The exterior carries a textured diamond-pattern finish that catches and diffuses ambient light across the white powder-coated surface. The pendant hangs from an adjustable cable and matching white ceiling canopy, allowing drop heights from 330mm to 1330mm depending on ceiling height and installation position.

Designed for task and accent lighting over kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and worktops, the narrow cylinder directs light downward without lateral spill. The recessed GU10 bulb sits behind the lower aperture, preventing direct glare when viewed from the side or below. Multiple Artisan pendants can be installed in a linear run above an island or table, spaced 400-600mm apart depending on the brightness required and the surface width being lit.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight low at under 500g per pendant, making it suitable for plasterboard ceilings without additional reinforcement. The white finish pairs with white, grey and light wood kitchens, and the IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor areas. The pendant accepts any GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to 10W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose the beam angle, colour temperature and brightness that suits the application.

Yes. The cable is adjustable from 330mm to 1330mm drop. The adjustment is typically made during installation by shortening or lengthening the cable at the ceiling canopy, but can be altered later if needed by accessing the canopy again.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is only suitable for dry indoor areas. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones near showers, baths and basins.

How many pendants are needed for a 2m kitchen island?

For a 2m island, two Artisan pendants spaced 500-600mm apart typically provide adequate task lighting. For a 3m island, three pendants work better. The exact number depends on the GU10 bulb wattage and beam angle chosen.
