Our Around The World Pendant Lampshade takes an egg-shaped form, widest low down and tapering gently towards the top, where it hangs from a small flat canopy. Rather than a smooth surface, the shade is built from fine horizontal ribbed bands that wrap the whole shape, catching the light along each ridge. We chose the Medium size here, standing 34.4cm tall with a diameter of 27.2cm, which gives it enough presence to hold a room without overwhelming it. It is a shape we keep coming back to, quietly rounded and easy to live with.

The Brushed Brass metal top sits neatly at the crown, a warm finish that softens the overall look and picks up the tones of nearby wood, leather or warm paint colours. This pendant is made from steel and glass, so it feels solid in the hand while keeping a light visual weight at 1.6kg. It takes a max 15W LED bulb with an E27 fitting, and we would suggest an opal glass bulb for a gentle, even glow through the ribbed bands, though the bulb itself is not included. Assembly is quick at around five minutes, and every pendant we send out is backed by our two-year warranty.

We like to hang this one low over a kitchen island, a side table or a bedside, either singly or in a loose cluster at staggered heights for a bit of rhythm.
