Description

The Arlow is a metal wall art piece comprising seven irregular disc shapes in matt black cast aluminium, each outlined with a hand-applied brushed brass edge. The discs vary in diameter from approximately 20cm to 35cm and overlap at different depths to create a three-dimensional composition measuring 95cm wide by 120cm high. Each disc sits 13mm proud of the wall surface and the overlapping arrangement creates layered shadow patterns that shift with room lighting throughout the day.

Designed for large wall expanses in living rooms, hallways, and above console tables or sideboards where vertical compositions work better than horizontal, the Arlow can be hung in portrait orientation as shown or rotated 90 degrees to landscape depending on the wall space available. The 13.6kg weight requires professional installation into wall studs or solid masonry using appropriate fixings — plasterboard alone will not support the load safely. The brass edges are recessed slightly below the outer rim of each disc, protecting them from tarnishing through direct contact.

Cast aluminium gives each disc a slightly textured surface that reads as matt black from normal viewing distances but shows subtle tonal variation up close where the casting process leaves minute surface irregularities. The overlapping arrangement means the piece projects approximately 40mm from the wall at its deepest point where three discs layer together. A five-disc version of the same design is also available for smaller wall spaces or as a companion piece in adjacent rooms.
