Description

The Arion-1 is a 400mm diameter black metal ceiling lampshade shaped as a low-profile hemispherical dome. The shade fits onto a standard ceiling rose using a threaded ring, making it compatible with both ES (E27) and BC (B22) lamp holders already installed in the ceiling. The black metal finish is matt on the exterior with a slightly reflective black interior that directs light downwards while reducing glare from the bulb.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and living spaces where a simple, functional shade is needed over an existing ceiling rose and bulb fitting, the Arion-1 works as a single fitting or in a series of two or three over a kitchen island or dining table. The 400mm diameter casts a pool of directed light approximately 1.2-1.5m across when hung 2.4-2.7m from the floor, depending on the bulb wattage and beam angle chosen. The shade adds approximately 150mm of drop below the ceiling rose.

The hemispherical shape and matt black finish pair cleanly with industrial, Scandinavian and modern interiors. The shade is lightweight metal rather than ceramic or glass, so it fits ceiling roses without needing additional structural support. Bulbs are sold separately — most users pair this with a 6-10W LED in warm white (2700-3000K) for general room lighting, or a filament-style decorative bulb where the bulb will be visible from below.

The shade accepts any bulb that fits into the existing lamp holder on your ceiling rose — typically ES (E27) or BC (B22). Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a 6-10W LED in 2700-3000K for general lighting, or a visible filament bulb for decorative effect.

How much drop does it add below the ceiling?

The hemispherical shade adds approximately 150mm of depth below the ceiling rose once fitted. Total drop from ceiling to the bottom of the shade will be around 200mm including the rose itself.
