Description

The Arcus profile is a two metre length of white aluminium channel for an LED strip, made for surface mounting. It is a slim U-shaped section, 8mm by 9mm, open along one side so the strip sits within the channel and its light shows as one tidy line. What arrives is the profile alone: the LED strip, the driver that powers it and the end caps are all sold separately, so this is one part of a strip lighting run rather than a finished light, and it gives no light until a strip and driver are added.

Because it mounts on the surface rather than into a recess, it suits places where cutting a channel into the material is not an option: the underside of a shelf, the inside of a bookcase or alcove, or the top edge of a wardrobe, anywhere a line of light is wanted indoors. The white finish lets it sit quietly against white-painted joinery and ceilings, so the eye notices the glow rather than the channel. At 8mm by 9mm it is small enough to tuck behind a lip or a pelmet where it stays out of sight.

Aluminium is a light, rigid metal, and the whole two metre length weighs just 0.16KG. The profile takes an LED strip up to 5mm wide and rated at no more than 8W per metre, so check both figures on the strip you choose before ordering. The maker pairs it with a remote driver, one that sits away from the profile rather than inside it. As with any mains connection, we would have a qualified electrician fit the driver.
