Description

The Apollo is a modern abstract rug built around sweeping brushstroke curves. Broad arcs of soft grey and white loop across the surface, crossed by finer, darker strokes with the look of loaded brushwork, so the design has movement without feeling busy. This is the Grey / Dark Blue colourway. It is machine woven with a high and low pile: the high pile is 100% polypropylene and the low pile is 100% polyester, and the two levels give the strokes a gentle texture. Underfoot, the pile is soft.

This is a rug for the living room, where its cool greys bring a calm, modern feel and its sweeping lines add a little energy to a plain floor. It sits comfortably with light walls, pale upholstery and wooden floors. We sell it in four sizes: 80 by 150cm for a reading corner or in front of a fireplace, 120 by 170cm in front of an armchair or a small sofa, 160 by 230cm under a coffee table with the front feet of the sofa resting on it, and 200 by 290cm to anchor a larger seating area.

It is hard wearing, so it is made for a living room that is used every day rather than kept for best. It is also stain resistant, which takes some of the worry out of a spilt cup of tea or a dropped snack in a busy household.
