Apollo 2 Light Crystal Wall Light - Satin Nickel

The Apollo is a 2-light wall light built around two curved satin nickel arms that extend from a circular backplate, each supporting a spherical shade made from clear crystal buttons set into a metal frame. The two G9 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately) sit inside the crystal spheres, causing the light to refract through the faceted crystal buttons and project both ambient wash light onto the wall and decorative sparkle into the room.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where decorative wall lighting is needed without occupying floor space, the Apollo projects 150mm from the wall and spans 360mm width and 450mm height. The curved arms create asymmetry — one sphere sits higher than the other — giving the fitting visual interest on a plain wall. The satin nickel finish provides a softer, warmer alternative to polished chrome or brushed steel, pairing well with warm-toned interiors, traditional schemes and transitional spaces that mix classical and contemporary elements.

Each crystal sphere contains dozens of individual crystal buttons hand-set into the metal framework, so the light refracts differently depending on viewing angle and the colour temperature of the bulbs chosen. The fitting weighs 1kg complete and mounts to a standard UK back box on a single fixing point. The satin nickel finish is a brushed semi-matt surface that hides fingerprints better than polished finishes and softens reflections under daylight.

What bulbs does it take?

The Apollo takes two G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient decorative lighting. The G9 is a small push-fit capsule base common in decorative fittings.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb model chosen.

How far does it project from the wall?

The Apollo projects 150mm from the wall to the furthest point of the crystal spheres. This makes it suitable for hallways and rooms with reasonable wall clearance, but may feel prominent in very narrow corridors under 900mm wide.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The crystal buttons can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal framework or using household sprays. The satin nickel frame can be wiped with a soft dry cloth.
