Antic Wall Light - Gold with Ribbed White Glass

The Antic is a single-light wall fitting with a vertically ribbed white glass cylinder suspended from a curved gold metal arm that extends from a semi-circular wall plate. The arm arcs upward and then curves down, holding the glass shade at approximately 400mm projection from the wall. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W, housed inside the glass cylinder which diffuses light through its ribbed surface.

Designed for residential hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and dining areas with sufficient wall width to accommodate the 23.5cm horizontal reach of the arm, the Antic provides both ambient and decorative light. The ribbed glass texture breaks up the light source into soft vertical bands, reducing glare from the bulb while casting gentle downward wash light suitable for reading in bed or illuminating a hallway. The gold finish on the metal frame reads as warm brass under incandescent light and pairs with both traditional and mid-century modern interiors.

The Antic measures 53.5cm in total height from the top of the wall plate to the base of the glass shade, with the shade itself measuring 10cm in diameter. The glass cylinder is top-hung from a brass sphere at the curve of the arm, allowing the shade to hang vertically regardless of wall angle. The metal construction is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. The gold finish shows a low-sheen satin texture rather than high polish, which softens reflections and reduces fingerprint visibility during bulb changes.

What bulb does the Antic take?

The fitting takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for soft ambient light.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The Antic carries an IP20 rating, which means it is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms or any area subject to moisture.

How far does it project from the wall?

The horizontal length of the arm is 23.5cm, meaning the glass shade sits approximately 23-24cm out from the wall surface once installed. Allow clearance for the full 53.5cm vertical height when planning placement above furniture or doors.

Is the gold finish polished or brushed?

The gold finish is a low-sheen satin texture rather than high polish. It reads as warm brass under most lighting conditions and shows less fingerprinting than polished finishes during bulb changes.
