Description

The Antic is a single-drop pendant light built around a cylindrical cognac ribbed glass shade, suspended from a polished gold canopy with a matching gold sphere detail at the join between cable and shade. The glass is moulded with vertical ribs that run the full length of the 18cm shade, creating alternating bands of clear and textured glass that diffuse light from the E14 bulb inside.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, dining tables and in hallways, the Antic hangs on a textile-covered cable adjustable from a minimum drop of 39cm to a maximum of 187.5cm, allowing it to be set to the height that suits the room. The 10cm diameter keeps the pendant compact enough to be grouped in multiples across a long worktop or dining surface without overcrowding the space. The E14 socket accepts bulbs up to 40W (sold separately).

The cognac-toned glass filters warm light through the ribbed texture, creating vertical striations of shadow and glow on the glass itself while casting softer diffused light into the room. The polished gold finish on the metal canopy, cable sphere and E14 lampholder gives the pendant a warmer metallic accent than chrome or nickel, pairing well with brass cabinet handles, warm-toned timber and terracotta interiors. The IP20 rating limits the pendant to dry indoor locations.

What bulb does the Antic take?

The pendant uses a standard E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W warm-white LED E14 candle bulb at 2700K for warm ambient light that complements the cognac glass tone.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The cable length is set during installation by adjusting the cable through the ceiling canopy. Once the canopy is fixed to the ceiling rose, the drop is locked at that height unless the canopy is removed and the cable re-adjusted.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is rated for dry indoor locations only and is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor covered areas or any location where moisture or splashing may occur.

Can multiple Antic pendants be hung together?

Yes. The 10cm diameter allows multiple pendants to be spaced 30-40cm apart along a kitchen island or dining table without the shades interfering with each other. Each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and electrical point.
