Description

The Antic is a 2-light wall light built around two white ribbed glass cylinders set vertically on a gold-finished metal bracket with a spherical connector between the wall plate and the glass. Each cylinder houses an E14 bulb (sold separately, max 40W per bulb), and the ribbed texture of the glass diffuses light evenly across the room rather than casting hard shadows.

Designed for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas, the Antic mounts flush to the wall with a 10cm projection from the wall surface, making it suitable for narrow passages and spaces where a pendant would intrude. The vertical arrangement of the two glass cylinders gives a total height of 43.5cm, which works well either side of a mirror, flanking a doorway, or as a pair in a symmetrical room layout. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor spaces only.

The gold finish on the metal frame is a warm yellow-toned brass effect, not a bright polished brass or antique patina. The ribbed glass cylinders are opaque white with a vertical corrugated profile that catches and refracts light from the bulbs inside, creating a soft ambient glow rather than direct task lighting. The fitting weighs approximately 1kg and fixes to a standard UK wall box using the concealed backplate.

The Antic takes two E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers use warm-white LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for a soft ambient glow.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry indoor spaces only and is not protected against moisture. It cannot be used in bathrooms, shower rooms or other damp environments.

How far does it project from the wall?

The fitting projects 10cm from the wall surface once mounted. The width across both glass cylinders is 18cm, and the overall height is 43.5cm.

What colour is the gold finish?
