Description

The Amulet is a 150cm LED semi-flush ceiling light built around 20 ribbed glass spheres threaded onto a curved gold metal frame. Each sphere is cast with vertical ribbing that refracts the light from an integrated 36W 3000K LED strip concealed within the frame, turning the glass itself into a chain of diffusers. The result is a soft, warm wash of ambient light rather than focused downlighting.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.7m where a traditional chandelier would hang too low, the Amulet's semi-flush profile projects just 30-64cm from the ceiling depending on the curve chosen during installation. The 150cm arc spans dining tables, kitchen islands or wide hallways without requiring the ceiling height of a full pendant suspension. The gold finish on the metal frame pairs well with warm-toned wood floors, brass door furniture and warmer contemporary palettes.

Each ribbed glass sphere measures approximately 7-8cm diameter and is spaced along the frame by short gold collar sections, creating a beaded necklace effect when viewed from below. The integrated LED runs at 36W total output across the full length of the fitting, giving approximately 3,200 lumens of warm white light distributed along the entire 150cm span. The cast glass ribbing softens the light output, avoiding harsh glare points while maintaining enough brightness for functional room lighting.

The fitting carries an IP20 rating, limiting it to dry indoor locations only. Installation requires a standard UK ceiling rose and a cable run concealed within the ceiling void, with the frame supported at both ends. The 3000K colour temperature sits at the warmer end of white LED output, leaning amber rather than blue when lit.

Frequently Asked

Is the Amulet dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model used. The integrated LED driver may not work with all trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmers. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

What ceiling height does it need?

The Amulet projects between 30cm and 64cm from the ceiling depending on installation configuration. It works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, making it suitable for standard UK residential ceiling heights where a full pendant would hang too low.

Can the glass spheres be replaced if damaged?

Individual glass spheres are cast components threaded onto the metal frame. Replacement parts availability depends on Maytoni's service policy. Contact us for guidance on sourcing replacement glass elements.

How is the frame supported during installation?

The 150cm frame requires support at both ends, typically via ceiling roses or mounting plates at each terminal point. The installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure the frame is safely secured and the cable run is concealed within the ceiling void.
