Description

The Amelie is a floor lamp with an integrated table shelf positioned midway up a brass-finished metal stem. The lamp head features a cone-shaped satin grey metal shade that pivots on a brass arm, directing light downwards onto a reading position or upwards as ambient wash. The table shelf sits approximately 70cm above floor level, providing a 25cm-diameter surface for a drink, book or phone within arm's reach of a chair.

Designed for reading corners, beside armchairs and sofa ends where both task lighting and a small side table are needed, the Amelie removes the requirement for separate furniture pieces. The weighted 29cm circular base gives stability on carpet and hard floors without needing wall mounting. The 180cm cable includes an inline rocker switch positioned 100-120cm from the plug, allowing the lamp to be switched on and off without reaching the base or wall socket.

The brushed satin grey finish on the shade softens reflections and contrasts with the polished brass stem and fittings. The shade accepts a standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and brightness depending on whether the lamp is used for reading, ambient light, or both. The combined lamp and table height of 138cm suits standard armchair and sofa heights between 40-50cm seat level.

Yes. The shade pivots on a brass arm, allowing it to be angled downwards for directed reading light or tilted upwards to cast light onto a wall or ceiling as ambient wash.

How much weight can the table shelf hold?

The 25cm table shelf is designed for lightweight items such as a drink, book, mobile phone or reading glasses. Avoid placing heavy objects or leaning weight onto the shelf, as this can destabilise the lamp.

Is the base stable on thick carpet?

The 29cm weighted base provides stability on most short-pile carpets and rugs. On very thick or shag pile carpet, the lamp may benefit from a firm board underneath the base to prevent tipping if the shade is adjusted frequently.
