Description

The Amelia is a 324mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a cast glass diffuser held within a brushed bronze frame. The fitting sits 170mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights or lower, where a full pendant would drop too far. Two E27 bulbs sit behind the ribbed cast glass, which diffuses light across the surface and prevents direct glare.

Designed for hallways, bedroom ceiling positions and kitchens where ceiling clearance is limited, the Amelia delivers even light distribution without occupying significant vertical space. The bronze frame includes a decorative trim ring around the canopy and two ornamental clasps on opposing sides of the glass bowl, giving the fitting a retro-industrial character. The cast glass pattern creates soft shadows across the ceiling when the light is on, adding texture to the room beyond basic illumination.

The Amelia takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 170mm drop from ceiling to bottom of the glass makes it appropriate for standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m and lower, where full pendant lights would hang too far into the room.

Can the glass diffuser be removed for cleaning?

The cast glass bowl is held in place by the metal frame and can be removed once the ornamental clasps are released. This allows the glass to be cleaned separately from the metalwork.
