Description

The Amberley is a ceramic table lamp with a base of sculptured bobble shapes, here in a glossy vintage white crackle glaze. It is the larger size, standing 615mm tall with a 350mm shade and weighing 2.6kg, and it joins an aged brass plated stem to a switched metal B22 lamp holder with a grey braided flex. The 35cm Ivy shade is made in vintage white cotton-mix fabric with an almond white taped edge, a soft, all-white pairing for the crackle-glazed base. It takes one B22 bulb up to 10W and works with B22 LED lamps.

At this height it reads as a proper anchor for a sideboard, a wide console or a hallway table, giving a generous pool of light and a calm, pale presence. The crackle glaze and the tonal white shade keep it quiet and easy to live with, so it settles into most colour schemes and suits period and country rooms as much as gentle modern ones. The switch on the holder is easy to reach, and the 1.5 metre flex gives room to place it away from the socket.
