Description

The Amberhurst large pendant sets a 450mm shade of Tiffany-style leaded glass on a drop that adjusts from 410mm to 1400mm, so the same ceiling light works over a table or higher up in a hall. The glass is multicoloured and built the traditional way, with each piece cut on its own and joined by soldered seams across a metal frame. A single E27 bulb sits inside, and a 10W LED gives the output the fitting is designed for, which keeps the running cost low. Bulbs are supplied separately, and it dims with a dimmable LED on a compatible dimmer.

A pendant this wide earns its place over a small dining table, a hall table or a stairwell, and it also works well in a sitting room corner where a floor lamp would get in the way. The leaded pattern suits older houses, but it is just as useful in a plain rented flat as the one piece of colour and pattern in the room. It weighs 2.3kg, so a sound ceiling rose will usually take it, though we would have the fixing checked. The fitting is rated IP20 and belongs in dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms.
