Description

The Amaya Tropical Birds rug brings a garden's worth of colour to the floor. Long-tailed green birds perch among palm fronds and trailing leaves, with coral pink passion flowers, soft orange butterflies and the odd dragonfly scattered across a pale blue-green ground. The design is digitally printed onto 100% polyester, which keeps every feather and petal clearly drawn, while the softened, slightly faded colours give the whole rug a gentle vintage look.

We think it is at its best in a hallway, and the runners are made for one: the 61 by 170cm runner suits a shorter entrance, while the 76 by 230cm runner carries the birds and blooms down a longer passage. The 76 by 150cm size makes a neat mat for a landing or beside an armchair. For a living room, the 122 by 170cm and 152 by 230cm rugs are large enough to sit under a coffee table or pull a seating area together. The blue-green ground sits comfortably with pale wood and soft neutral walls.

The practical part is simple: the rug is washable, so muddy footprints and spills by the front door are easier to put right. That makes it a sensible choice for a busy hallway that sees boots, bags and paws every day. Before you choose a size, measure your floor and leave a little space around the edges so the design has room to breathe.
