Description

Amaya Tropical Birds is a botanical rug that brings a tropical garden indoors. Long-tailed birds perch among purple passion flowers, palm fronds, pink blooms and butterflies, all set on a pale blue ground with deep green leaves running through the design. In the Purple colourway it is the violet flower heads that catch the eye first, while the blue and green keep the rug fresh. The pattern is digitally printed onto 100% polyester, and the printing picks out the fine lines of feathers, petals and fronds.

Its first home is the hallway, and the two runners are made for that: a 61 by 170cm runner for a shorter hall and a 76 by 230cm runner for a longer one, so the birds and flowers follow you from the front door. The other sizes suit the rest of the home. A 76 by 150cm rug fits a landing or the side of a bed, while the 122 by 170cm and 152 by 230cm sizes give a living room or bedroom a bright centre, in front of a sofa or at the foot of a bed.

The rug is washable, which settles the worry about a pale ground in a busy entrance where muddy boots and wet paws come through every day. Before choosing a size, measure your hall or the space in front of the sofa, leaving a strip of floor showing around the edges so the border sits neatly.
