Description

The Amarilli is a 730mm diameter five-arm chandelier combining hand-forged scrollwork with antiqued oak leaf detailing on a dual-finish frame. The main structure is finished in bronze, while the central oak leaf cluster and arm accents carry a gold patina that contrasts against the darker metal. Five E14 candle-style bulb holders sit on cut glass sconces, each with a clear glass drop below the bulb position.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Amarilli provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 680-1460mm adjustable drop allows the chandelier to be set 700-800mm above a dining table or higher in a double-height entrance. The scrollwork arms spread symmetrically from the central oak leaf cluster, giving the fitting a 730mm footprint that works over tables of 1600-2000mm length or in hallways of 2.5m+ width.

Each piece is hand-forged by Elstead's metalworkers, so there are minor variations in scroll curves and leaf positioning between individual chandeliers. The bronze and gold patina finishes are applied separately, then partially distressed to expose the base metal beneath in places, giving the chandelier an aged appearance rather than a factory-fresh finish. The cut glass sconces diffuse direct uplight from the bulbs while the glass drops below each arm add movement and refraction when the chandelier is lit.

What bulbs does the Amarilli take?

The chandelier takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional glow that complements the bronze and gold finishes.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop of 680-1460mm works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. For a dining table, the chandelier typically sits 700-800mm above the surface. In entrance halls or double-height spaces, the full drop can be used.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain length is adjusted on installation by shortening the suspension chain to the required drop, then concealing the excess cable inside the ceiling canopy. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the chandelier is taken down and re-hung.

Is the gold patina finish applied by hand?

Yes. Each Amarilli is hand-forged and finished individually by Elstead's metalworkers. The gold patina is applied separately to the bronze base finish, then partially distressed to create an aged appearance. Minor variations in scroll curves and leaf positioning occur between pieces.
