Description
The Amarilli is a 2-light wall light with hand-forged black scrollwork, decorative oak leaves finished in silver patina, and clear glass drops suspended beneath cut glass sconces. The frame extends 160mm from the wall on a leaf-motif backplate, with two E14 candle fittings set 370mm apart on scroll arms that curve upward from the central stem.
Designed for hallways, dining rooms and living rooms where wall lighting adds both illumination and decorative interest, the Amarilli sits comfortably in traditional, country house and transitional interiors. The 290mm height and 370mm width suit walls with dado rails or picture rails, where the light sits between architectural features without dominating the space. Each fitting takes an E14 candle bulb (sold separately), typically paired with warm-white LED or filament bulbs at 2700K-3000K for a soft, ambient glow.
The silver patina finish on the oak leaves and central stem provides tonal contrast against the matt black scrolls, giving the metalwork visual depth without high shine. Each piece is handmade at Elstead's forge, so minor variations in the scroll curvature and leaf detail occur between individual fittings. The clear glass drops beneath each sconce catch and refract light from the bulbs, creating subtle shimmer across adjacent walls when the light is on.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Amarilli takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs, commonly called candle bulbs due to their shape. Maximum wattage per bulb is 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for a soft, ambient glow that suits traditional interiors.
How far does it project from the wall?
The fitting projects 160mm from the wall at its deepest point, measured from the backplate to the front of the glass sconces. Allow clearance if the wall light will be positioned above furniture or near doorways.
Is it dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb choice. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer switch. Incandescent and halogen E14 bulbs are inherently dimmable with standard dimmer switches.
Does the silver patina wear or tarnish?
The silver patina is applied during forging and sealed. It does not require polishing and will not tarnish under normal indoor conditions. The finish is designed to remain stable over time without maintenance beyond occasional dusting with a soft, dry cloth.
