Description

The Alvero is a small travertine cone pendant light measuring 160mm in diameter and 200mm in height, suspended on a slim dark brown cord from a matching dark bronze ceiling fixing. A natural light beige travertine cone forms the shade, with a frosted glass globe diffuser sitting at its lower edge. The pendant uses a single G9 lamp holder, with the bulb sold separately.

The compact 160mm diameter suits clusters over kitchen islands and breakfast bars, single hangs above bedside tables, or runs of three to five over longer dining tables and counters. The narrow taper and downward-directed glow make it well suited to spaces where focused task light is needed without the visual weight of a larger shade. Cord length allows the pendant to be set at a range of drops on installation.

Travertine is a natural sedimentary stone, and each shade carries the open pores, mineral pitting and tonal banding characteristic of the material. No two cones are identical, and the pale beige surface shifts in tone depending on the section of stone it was cut from. The frosted glass globe extends just beyond the lower edge of the cone, breaking the strict geometry and softening the light output. Light passes through the globe as a diffused warm glow, with the cone interior catching and reflecting some of the brightness back across the stone.

What bulb does the Alvero take?

The pendant uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. A G9 LED rated between 2-4W and 2700K-3000K gives a warm ambient glow that pairs well with the natural beige tones of the travertine.

Does each travertine shade look the same?

No. Travertine is a natural stone, so each cone shows different pitting, mineral pores and tonal variation. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect, and means every Alvero pendant is visually distinct.

Can I hang several Alvero pendants in a row?

Yes. The 160mm diameter is small enough to cluster over a kitchen island or run two or three across a dining table. Typical spacing is 350-500mm between shade centres, with each pendant on its own ceiling rose or wired into a track or bar.

How is the travertine cleaned?

Travertine is porous. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid household sprays, polishes and acidic cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone surface.
