Description

The Knightsbridge 2m plaster-in LED profile is a recessed aluminium channel designed to sit flush within plastered walls and ceilings, creating a continuous linear light line with minimal visual interruption. The 55mm-wide aluminium channel sits 12mm below the finished plaster surface, with only 3mm projection once the opal diffuser is clipped in. The profile accepts LED strip up to 12mm wide and ships with a 2m opal diffuser and two end caps.

Designed for wall washing, cove lighting and architectural accent lighting in residential and commercial interiors, the plaster-in profile requires a chase to be cut into the wall or ceiling during first-fix before plastering. The aluminium channel acts as both the mounting surface for the LED strip and a heat sink to dissipate thermal load away from the LEDs, extending strip life. The 18mm cut-out depth accommodates the channel body and allows clearance for wiring behind the strip.

The opal diffuser softens individual LED points into a continuous linear glow without visible hotspots, making the profile suitable for installation at eye level or in positions where the light source would otherwise be directly visible. The matt silver aluminium finish blends into white or off-white plasterwork once installed. Additional mounting clips and spare end caps are available separately under SKU 1MPLACAP.

Frequently Asked

What LED strip width does it accept?

The profile accepts LED strip up to 12mm wide. Most standard single-row and some dual-row LED strips fall within this width. Measure your LED strip before ordering to confirm compatibility.

When is the profile installed during construction?

The aluminium channel is fixed into a chase cut into the wall or ceiling during first-fix, before plastering. The plaster is finished around the channel so the profile sits flush with the wall surface. LED strip is then fitted and the diffuser clipped in after second-fix electrics are complete.

Does the diffuser hide individual LED points?

Yes. The opal diffuser softens individual LED points into a continuous linear glow, eliminating visible hotspots. This makes the profile suitable for eye-level installation where an undiffused LED strip would show distinct bright points.

Can the profile be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the profile is not rated for wet or damp environments. It is suitable for general indoor use in dry zones only. For bathroom zones 1-3, an IP44 or IP65-rated profile would be required.
