Description
The Althia is a dual-disc alabaster wall light measuring 571mm tall and 203mm wide, built around two circular Spanish alabaster discs aligned vertically along a matte black metal spine. A round matte black backplate anchors the fitting to the wall, and an integrated 3000K LED behind each disc lights the stone from within at 230V mains.
The vertical configuration suits hallways, stairwells, entryways and either side of a bed or mirror, where the 571mm height draws the eye upwards and stretches the visual proportion of the wall. The slim 203mm width keeps the projection close to the wall, so the Althia works in narrower corridors and beside doorways without intruding into walking space. Each disc is fixed to the spine with two visible matte black rivets, giving the fitting a deliberate, assembled character rather than a hidden-fixing minimalism.
Each alabaster disc is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, cloudy tonal shifts and warm amber inclusions vary between pieces. When the LED is on, the stone glows in a soft, diffused way that reveals the internal structure of the alabaster; when it's off, the discs read as cool matt white against the black metal. The contrast between the organic stone and the hard-edged matte black backplate and column gives the Althia a sculptural quality that holds attention without resorting to scale.

Frequently Asked
Does the Althia come with bulbs?
The Althia uses an integrated LED light source built into the fitting, so no separate bulbs are needed or replaceable. The LED runs at 3000K warm white on a 230V mains supply.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No IP rating is specified for this fitting, so it should be installed in dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or external use.
Does the alabaster look the same on every piece?
No. Each disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining patterns, tonal variation and amber inclusions differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and it becomes most visible when the LED is illuminated.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe the discs gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable.
