Description
The Allenbury is a single-light outdoor wall lantern with a 305mm-diameter metal shade in black, a curved gooseneck arm and a seeded glass enclosure housing an E27 bulb fitting. The seeded glass sits beneath the shade, creating a vintage-industrial silhouette while the IP44 rating allows the lantern to be fitted in fully exposed exterior positions including porches, driveways, garden walls and coastal locations.
Designed for coastal and high-humidity environments, the lantern combines steel, aluminium and composite materials treated to resist rust, corrosion and UV fade in saltwater conditions. The 441mm projection from the wall gives clearance over doorways and side passages, and the downward-facing shade directs light onto the ground while the seeded glass diffuses the bulb glare. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and brightness.
The black finish is a low-sheen powder coat over the metal components, minimising reflections under daylight and blending cleanly with industrial, coastal cottage and contemporary exterior styles. The circular backplate is 140mm diameter, concealing standard UK exterior junction boxes. The seeded glass adds texture and visual interest when lit, with the air bubbles and ripples in the glass scattering the light into soft patterns on adjacent walls.

Frequently Asked
Can the Allenbury be used in coastal areas?
Yes. Kichler designed this lantern specifically for coastal conditions, using steel, aluminium and composite materials treated to resist rust and corrosion in saltwater and high-humidity environments. The IP44 rating also provides moisture protection.
What bulb does it take?
The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K for a welcoming exterior light.
Does it project far from the wall?
The lantern projects 441mm from the wall on the gooseneck arm, giving clearance over doorways and side passages. The downward-facing shade directs light onto the ground rather than into eyes at door height.
What is seeded glass?
Seeded glass contains small air bubbles and ripples deliberately introduced during manufacturing. When the bulb is lit, the imperfections scatter and diffuse the light, reducing glare and creating soft patterns on nearby surfaces.
