Description

A small cast gypsum cube, square on the face and square in projection, it measures 12cm in every direction and sits tight against the wall. The white paintable finish is the point of it: leave the surface plain, or roll it over with the same emulsion as the wall so the fitting reads as part of the plaster rather than something hung on it. A single G9 capsule sits inside, and there is no switch on the body, so it works from whatever switch or circuit feeds it.

It suits rooms where light is wanted but a shape is not: flanking a bed at pillow height, running up a stair wall, or set beside a mirror in a hallway. Dimming is possible if you fit a dimmable lamp, which is worth doing in a bedroom. We would put an LED capsule in it and keep the output modest, since a small gypsum body is happiest with a gentle lamp. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; a shower room or an open porch needs something sealed instead.

The body is cast gypsum, finished white and ready for paint, so it can be matched to whatever colour the wall is. Treat the surface as you would a plastered wall: dust it with a dry brush or a soft cloth, and keep water, sprays and solvents off the bare finish, since gypsum marks rather than wipes. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included.
