Description
Here is a small sphere in paintable gypsum, sitting close against the wall and pushing its light out in a soft wash. The LED is integral, drawing 4.2W at a warm white 3000K, which keeps the glow gentle rather than glaring. At 16cm across it is a modest thing on a wall, and with no switch on the body it answers to the wall switch. It is not dimmable, so a plain switch suits it best.
We would put it in a bedroom beside the bed, in a hallway where a run of them can mark the way, or up a stairwell where anything larger would catch shoulders. The output is enough for atmosphere and for finding your way at night, so treat it as company for a main light rather than the only source in a room. It suits anyone who wants the fitting to disappear into the wall instead of announcing itself, and it is one we recommend where a plain white wall needs light without an obvious fixture. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; a bathroom or a porch is not its place.
The body is cast gypsum, finished white and ready for paint: give it the same emulsion as the wall and the sphere reads as part of the plaster. Left plain, it is simply matt white. Dust it with a soft dry brush and leave solvents and scouring well alone, since gypsum is porous and marks easily; touch in the paintwork if it ever gets knocked. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same paintable finish across the range in square and round LED versions, in oval and square G9 shapes, and in up-and-down cylinder and rectangular forms where you want light going up as well as down.

Frequently Asked
How bright is it?
The integral LED gives 356lm at 3000K warm white, drawing 4.2W. That is a soft pool of light for a bedside, hallway or stair, not a substitute for a main light.
Can I really paint it?
Yes. The gypsum body comes in a white paintable finish and takes ordinary emulsion, so you can match it to the wall colour. Keep paint off the light aperture and the LED.
How much space does it take on the wall?
It is 165mm wide and 80mm high, and projects 75mm from the wall, so it stays clear of heads and shoulders in a corridor. Weight is 0.36kg.
Is it dimmable?
No. It runs at a fixed output, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer.
How should I clean it?
Switch it off first, then take dust off with a soft dry brush or a clean make-up brush. Gypsum absorbs moisture and cleaning fluids, so avoid wet cloths and sprays.
Does it come with a warranty?
It carries a three year warranty.
