Description

The Alexandra is an 865mm crystal table lamp built around a gold-plated central column supporting two tiers of faceted crystals. Five E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the upper tier, casting light through hundreds of individual crystal facets arranged in cascading strands. The lower tier forms a 350mm-diameter skirt of mixed baguette and round-cut crystals that hang in overlapping layers, refracting light across the room.

Designed for side tables in formal living rooms, bedside placement in traditional or classical bedrooms, and console tables in entrance halls where ceiling height allows, the Alexandra combines ambient and decorative function. The 12.5kg weight requires a stable surface with a footprint of at least 400mm square. The gold finish on the frame and base picks up warm tones from the crystals when the lamp is lit, creating a cohesive golden glow across the entire piece.

The crystal arrangement uses three distinct cuts: flat baguettes form the outer rings of each tier, round faceted beads create depth in the central cascade, and small accent crystals fill the gaps between larger elements. Why is this lamp not compatible with LED or CFL bulbs?

The Alexandra uses an inline dimmer designed for resistive loads (incandescent and halogen bulbs). LED and CFL bulbs require electronic dimming circuits, which this lamp does not provide. Using LED or CFL bulbs may result in flickering, buzzing, or failure to dim. Use incandescent or halogen E14 candle bulbs up to 40W per socket.

What surface does it need to sit on?

At 12.5kg and 865mm tall, the Alexandra needs a stable, level surface with a footprint of at least 400mm square. Suitable placements include console tables, side tables in formal living rooms, or wide bedside tables in bedrooms with high ceilings. Avoid narrow or unstable surfaces where the lamp could be knocked over.

Can the crystals be removed for cleaning?

The crystals are fixed to the gold frame structure and are not designed to be removed. To clean, switch off and allow the lamp to cool fully, then wipe each crystal strand gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals or letting moisture run down into the lamp fittings.
