Description

The Alderworth is a large three-light ceiling pendant hung with Tiffany-style leaded glass in warm amber, orange and red tones. The dragonfly motif runs across the glass, with beaded detail around the lower edge that catches the light. It measures 500mm in diameter and drops between 470mm and 1380mm, so the height can be set to suit the room. Three lamps sit within the fitting, giving a generous spread of warm light, and the metalwork is finished in satin black to frame the glowing glass above a table.

This pendant is at its best over a dining table or kitchen island, where its warm, fiery colours come alive when lit and throw pattern onto the ceiling and walls. It also works as a focal ceiling light in a living room with the height to carry it. The rich amber palette suits traditional and characterful interiors, and the adjustable drop means you can hang it low over a table or higher in a room with tall ceilings. As a ceiling light it gives both useful light and plenty of colour.

Each shade is made from individual pieces of coloured glass held with metal came, the traditional leaded method that gives the flame tones their depth. It takes three 60W E27 GLS bulbs, not included, and the fitting is LED-compatible for lower-energy lamps. Clean the glass with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry it soon after, working carefully around the leaded seams and beading; the black metal needs only a dry cloth.
